About the Role
We are seeking a Non-profit Executive Director which is a multifaceted role that combines strategic leadership, fundraising, and grant writing expertise to drive the mission and sustainability of the organization. This individual will oversee all aspects of organizational management, including program development, financial stewardship, and stakeholder engagement, while also leading efforts to secure funding through grant writing and donor relations.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Direction:
Provide visionary leadership to advance the organization's mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with the board of directors, staff, and stakeholders.
Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability within the organization.
Grant Writing and Fundraising:
Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other sources.
Develop grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact.
Cultivate relationships with funders and donors to secure financial support for the organization's initiatives.
Collaborate with the development team to diversify funding streams and meet fundraising goals.
Program Development and Evaluation:
Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services to address the needs of the community.
Work closely with program staff to ensure programs are aligned with organizational goals, evidence-based practices, and best practices in the field.
Monitor program outcomes and impact, using data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Financial Management and Compliance:
Develop and manage the organization's annual budget, in accordance with sound financial practices and compliance requirements.
Ensure proper financial controls, oversight, and reporting, including timely submission of financial statements and grant reports.
Work closely with the finance committee and board of directors to monitor financial performance and make strategic financial decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communications:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, donors, volunteers, partners, and community members.
Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organization, advocating for its mission, values, and impact.
Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of the organization's work and engage stakeholders through various channels.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., non-profit management, public administration, communications), preferred .
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in non-profit leadership, grant writing, and fundraising.
Proven track record of successful grant acquisition and management, with experience securing grants of varying sizes and complexities.
Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling grant proposals and reports.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach to achieving organizational goals.
Knowledge of non-profit best practices, financial management principles, and compliance requirements.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience working in culturally diverse communities.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
